At the prestigious annual Highgate Care Awards, held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on February 29th, The Lawns Care Home in Darlington was acclaimed as the Home of the Year. The awards ceremony, characterised by an elegant champagne reception and a sumptuous meal accompanied by music, paid tribute to the dedication and passion exhibited by individuals in the care sector.
Presented by Joanne Fogg, Managing Director of Highgate Care, and Richard Hoggart, owner, the Home of the Year award was a highlight of the evening, recognising The Lawns Care Home for its exceptional environment and the high level of satisfaction expressed by its residents and their families.
In her address, Joanne Fogg underscored the overwhelming support received by The Lawns, with nominations from nearly every employee, ninety per cent of the residents, and their loved ones. She described The Lawns as “a happy home for all those who work and especially, all those who live there.” Testimonials from residents praised the home as “a wonderful and welcoming place,” commended the “excellent care,” and expressed contentment, saying, “I am so happy here.” These endorsements reflect the collective effort and commitment of all staff members, who tirelessly contribute to the care and well-being of the residents.
This accolade is a testament to The Lawns Care Home’s dedication to fostering a nurturing and supportive environment, earning it the highest praise and recognition. The home has been celebrated not only for the quality of care but also for the warmth and happiness it brings to its residents and staff alike.
Finalists for this esteemed award included The Elms Care Home in Louth and The Grange Care Home in Darlington, both of which have also demonstrated outstanding care and commitment to their residents and communities.
