Meet Deborah Payne, a dedicated caregiver with a lifelong passion for nursing and a career spanning 40 years in the healthcare sector. Deborah’s journey, from her early aspirations as a nurse to her current role as Home Manager at Springfield Manor in Stoke on Trent, reflects her unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care for older people and those living with dementia.

Professional Journey:

Deborah’s illustrious career began at the tender age of 3 when she knew she wanted to be a nurse. With 27 years of experience in the NHS, Deborah progressed to become a Divisional Nurse Manager in surgery, overseeing 14 wards and departments. Recognising her long-term passion for elderly care and dementia, Deborah transitioned to the social care sector, managing three care homes over a fifteen-year period. Her extensive experience, coupled with a BSc Hons degree in Adult Nursing, equips her with the knowledge and skills needed for her role at Springfield Manor.

Vision for Springfield Manor:

As the commissioning Home Manager at Springfield Manor, Deborah is dedicated to providing a high-quality forever home for residents. With a focus on residential care, nursing, dementia nursing, complex dementia, and mental health care, Springfield Manor offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet residents’ diverse needs. Deborah believes in empowering staff with the knowledge and tools necessary to deliver exceptional care to residents and their families.

Despite her long and distinguished career, Deborah’s passion and drive for caring for people remain undiminished. She believes that the choices she made in her career were the right ones and feels privileged to embark on this new journey with Highgate Care.
