Last week, Maple Lodge Care Home in Catterick was transformed into a scene straight out of Alice in Wonderland, providing a delightful afternoon for our residents and staff. Led by Bianca, our Home Manager, and Haley, our Activity Coordinator, the garden was adorned with fantastic decorations to recreate the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, complete with whimsical fun and community spirit.
As the clouds parted, our residents ventured outdoors to indulge in a variety of activities that brought smiles and laughter all around. The event featured classic Alice in Wonderland songs, interactive games like Pin the Smile on the Cheshire Cat, and creative craft sessions, including painting the white roses, red.
Rose, one of our residents, shared an interesting fact during the festivities, revealing that Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland, attended Richmond Grammar School in 1844, enriching the day with a touch of historical charm.
The highlight of the afternoon was the tea party itself, where residents enjoyed delicious treats and lively conversations, proving that Maple Lodge is a place where magic happens and friendships flourish.
This event is just one example of how Maple Lodge Care Home prioritises engaging, person-centred care, fostering an environment where residents can experience joy, companionship, and a true sense of belonging.
